Sustainability Information Assurance

ECSI offers clients assurance services to verify and validate sustainability claims in annual sustainability reports including:

  • Sustainability, Environmental Social and Corporate Governance (ESG)
  • Corporate Citizenship, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
  • Social or Health and Safety Environment Report
  • Sustainability information intended to appear in a financial annual report.
  • Disclosures made under the United States Security and Exchange Commission (SEC) Climate Disclosure Rule

ECSI assurance services are aligned with internationally recognized assurance standards including:

  • ISO 14019 – Validation and Verification of Sustainability Information
  • International Federation of Accounts (ISAE) 3000, Assurance Engagements Other than Audits or Reviews of Historical Financial Information.
  • International Audit and Assurance Standards Board (IAASB),  ISSA 5000 General Requirements for Sustainability Assurance Engagements.

Our sustainability assurance professionals can review the completeness and accuracy of ESG information disclosed to the public to analyze the areas that are ready for assurance and those that need further improvement. Once the selected information is ready for assurance, we verify the completeness, accuracy, and comparability of the data reported.

This method of planning and performing allows us to obtain sufficient and appropriate assurance evidence for our conclusion. ECSI issues an independent assurance report on the relevant sustainability subjects and related key performance indicators. In addition to issuing an assurance statement, we can make recommendations for future improvements if requested.
